Roberts Projects is thrilled to announce participation in Art Basel Miami Beach 2021 with new and recent works by gallery artists addressing major social and political changes in a variety of media including painting, drawing, assemblage, and sculpture. Featuring paintings by Amoako Boafo, Dominic Chambers, Daniel Crews-Chubb, Lenz Geerk, Ruth Ige, Wangari Mathenge, Evan Nesbit and Brenna Youngblood, mixed media works by Jeffrey Gibson, Alexandre Diop and Taylor White, works on paper by Collins Obijiaku and a major historical sculpture and new watercolors by Betye Saar.
A specially-mounted Kabinett installation will also be on view featuring new portraits by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe. This curated presentation is an extension of the artist's debut solo exhibition at Rubell Museum, Miami, which features works produced by Quaicoe during his Spring 2021 residency. The exhibition opens concurrently during Art Basel Miami Beach.
Alexandre Diop and Collins Obijiaku, two new artists to the gallery program, will see their debut with Roberts Projects at the fair. Betye Saar’s sculptural installation coincides with her newly-opened ICA Miami retrospective, “Betye Saar: Serious Moonlight,” an exhibition that focuses on seminal installation based works from the artists expansive career.
